KEMP Demonstrates an AI Manufacturing Metaverse Factory at Hannover Messe 2022
KEMP participated in Hannover Messe in Germany, held over four days from Monday, May 30 to Thursday, June 2, 2022 (local time),
as part of a Korean SME–university alliance working with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups to present a manufacturing-focused Metaverse Factory.

Hannover Messe is an international industrial technology trade fair first held in 1947. The theme highlighted in this report was Industrial Transformation.
Hannover Messe 2022 returned as an in-person event after a three-year interruption caused by COVID-19, bringing visitors together to explore digital technologies and trends.
Led by the KAIST Manufacturing AI Big Data Center, the alliance included Korean SMEs Digifore, ABH and KEMP, together with UNIST and Hanyang University.
The participating SMEs had developed or adopted AI solutions through the ministry's AI consulting and demonstration program. The program supported demonstrations, datasets and computing resources that could also underpin metaverse applications.
The companies and universities used this foundation to build an AI-enabled metaverse system.

The virtual AI Manufacturing Metaverse Factory supported operational interactions linked to the physical production site.
Visitors to the Hannover Messe demonstration used augmented-reality equipment to explore a virtual plating factory.
The demonstration let visitors interact with a plating process connected to the Korean site and explore bath-operation optimization informed by manufacturing AI analysis.
The project demonstrated remote access using augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), extended reality (XR) and metaverse software. It explored how virtual simulation could support manufacturing optimization and quality improvement.
