What is HG-100?
A clear water-based inorganic treatment designed to delay white and black corrosion products and enhance the protection of hot-dip galvanized steel.

HG-100 is a clear, waterborne inorganic post-treatment coating for hot-dip galvanized products. Inorganic particles bond with the zinc layer to inhibit initial oxidation and delay white rust and black staining. It supports in-line treatment on galvanizing and tube-production lines, as well as corrosion-resistance enhancement of finished products before dispatch, preserving surface quality during storage and distribution.
Based on the property data in the product catalog and technical data sheet (TDS).
HG-100 inhibits initial zinc oxidation and delays white rust and black staining. In-line treatment after galvanizing or application to finished products before dispatch maintains surface quality during storage and distribution.
A water-based formulation described in the product data as odorless and free of organic constituents and specified hazardous solvents.
Inorganic constituents interact with the zinc layer to inhibit oxidation.
Delays white and black corrosion products to help reduce appearance-related complaints.
The oil-free inorganic formulation supports subsequent processes such as cement bonding or painting.
| Property | HG-100 | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Appearance / Odor | Clear and colorless / odorless | Water-based formulation |
| Solids Content | 20±1% | |
| Treatment Thickness | 0.5 µm or less | Thin layer; minimal change in appearance |
| Viscosity / pH | Water-like / pH 11–12 | |
| VOCs | Near 0 | As listed in the catalog property table |
| Dilution / Application | Concentrate 1 : water 2–4 (by mass) | Air spray / electrically powered HVLP gun |
| Storage | 12 months from manufacture | Protect from Freezing |
Cool the surface → remove water → confirm a substrate temperature of 35–40°C → apply → allow to dry naturally. Post-treatment after galvanizing helps control white rust during pipe storage and distribution.
Confirm a substrate temperature of 10–40°C → apply → blow off any pooled liquid. Used to add protection to already-galvanized finished products.
The catalog includes comparative corrosion-test photographs for hot-dip galvanized specimens against chromate treatment (SST up to 120 hr), round tubes against varnish (SST up to 240 hr), and steel wire at 1:2 dilution (neutral salt spray, 192 hr). Detailed documents are available on request.
In-line post-treatment for round and square tubes to help control white rust during storage and distribution. (HG-100)
Additional protection and appearance retention for finished products before shipment. (HG-100)
Evaluate the oil-free inorganic formulation where subsequent paint or cement adhesion is required.
Supports appearance quality management during extended storage, ocean freight and other demanding distribution conditions.
Sample evaluation is available for lines considering a water-based alternative to corrosion-preventive oils or chromate post-treatment.
The product catalog reports no detection for the specified VOC and RoHS-related substance test items. Refer to the individual test reports for scope and detection limits.
